Introducing the New Terra Nova House Innkeepers
A brief history of Terra Nova House and its owners
Since 2004, the Terra Nova House Bed & Breakfast has been known for its hospitable innkeepers – Barry and Sandy Miller, its most adorable pets – Jada and the late Molly, its elegant Victorian charm, and its four consecutive annual BedandBreakfast.com awards.
A New Year Brings New Innkeepers, Ryan and Molly Mercer
We are in our mid-thirties, have been married for 13 years with two school-age children and two cats. Shortly after our wedding, we stayed at our first bed and breakfast and immediately fell in love with the concept. We have stayed at countless B&B's over the past decade and have gotten acquainted with many of their innkeepers. We expected to wait to run our own B&B during retirement, so we both pursued careers in the corporate world – Ryan in Information Technology and Molly in Accounting.

Ryan Mercer was Born and Raised Near Oil City, PA (45 min. from Grove City)
He holds a BS in Management Information Systems from Penn State - Behrend in Erie, PA, where he met Molly. His corporate career has included Wachovia Bank (Winston-Salem, NC) and Innovative Systems, Inc (Pittsburgh, PA) where he focused on helping large international financial institutions comply with governmental requirements of screening their customer list against known terrorists and bad guys. Ryan enjoys technology, cooking, golfing, photography, politics and serving people.
Molly Mercer was Born and Raised in Erie, PA

Improvements and a Few Changes
Through a series of events in 2011, God made it perfectly clear that NOW was the time to pursue our dream and He led us to the Terra Nova House. Ryan has officially retired from corporate life in order to run the B&B full time. We look forward to starting our journey and continuing to provide you with a charming and relaxing atmosphere with the personal service that only a bed and breakfast can offer. Much of what you have come to love about the Terra Nova House will remain; however, a few changes are forthcoming.
Golfer's Hideaway
For those that once enjoyed the comfort of the Golfer's Hideaway, the size of our family requires that we convert the room to private quarters. Although the Golfer's Hideaway will be missed, we know you will treasure the other four rooms.
New Amenities
Plans are underway for a few new amenities. The 2nd floor beverage center will be expanded and include a Keurig machine for coffee/tea at any hour. A new 1st floor snack and beverage center will be added which will be stocked with goodies galore for an early breakfast or a midnight snack. All rooms will be equipped with an upgraded television, Blu-ray player and a shared movie library. Finally, in-room massages will be available (based on scheduling) by a local licensed massage therapist for the low rate of $55 per hour (either 1 full hour or 2 half-hours).
Room Upgrades and Renovations
We are also planning for future room upgrades and renovations, but you will need to stay tuned for the timing and details of those bigger changes!
Closed from December 9th to January 18th
During our transition, the Terra Nova House will be closed from December 9th to January 18th. Reservations will continue to be taken via the online reservation system or via phone (724-450-0712 or 877-837-6682).
We want to note our sincere appreciation to Barry and Sandy for their support during the transition and making sure that we are off to a great start. We wish them the best as they start their new chapter!
Sincerely,
Ryan and Molly Mercer
